Family Medicine

The Family Medicine department at the South Shore Medical Center provides comprehensive care for every family member. A family physician is a board certified doctor who has trained to provide medical care to any patient regardless of age, sex, or problem. Your family physician will provide your periodic preventive check-ups, as well as evaluation and follow-up for acute and chronic problems, including minor orthopedic and surgical procedures, dermatology, and gynecology. Your family physician will coordinate your care and maintain an integrated care plan for you at each life stage in the setting of your family and community supports. We begin with newborn well child visits, and continue through hospice and nursing home visits when required.
