Babysitting

Babysitter Training

Tuesday, June 25 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
or
Tuesday, August 20 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that your babysitter have first aid training and be able to handle common emergencies.

This is a comprehensive four-hour course for 11-14 year olds. Topics include first aid, choke-saving techniques, mealtime, bedtime, diapering, discipline, safety, contracts and ethics.

Home Alone - Staying Safe

According to the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, children should be prepared in advance for how to deal with situations that may arise when they are home alone.

Saturday, August 24 from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m.

This class, for kids ages 9 - 11, will help prepare kids for situations that can happen when staying home alone, from the unexpected knock on the door to the 911 emergency phone call. It will also help ease the minds of parents who decide the time has come to leave their kids at home alone.

This comprehensive and fun class covers:

  • Safety to and from school
  • Basic self defense moves
  • Phone safety and calling 911
  • Food/cooking safety
  • Choking prevention and the Heimlich maneuver
  • Basic first aid and handling emergencies
  • Dealing with fears
  • Lots of prevention!

This course meets once for three hours.
