Medical society honors South Shore Hospital doctor
HINGHAM - The Norfolk South District Medical Society has named Dr. Robert E. Zeller its community clinician of the year.
The Massachusetts Medical Society established the award in 1998 to recognize physicians - one form each of the organization's 20 district medical societies - who have made significant contributions to their patients and communities. The Norfolk South District has 400 members.
Zeller is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist at South Shore Hospital and a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He is a 1962 graduate of the Tufts University School of Medicine and completed his internship and residency at Philadelphia General Hospital. He has been a member of the Massachusetts Medical Society since 1966.
Zeller has been active for many years in medical missionary work and has volunteered with the Salvadoran Association for Rural Health. He participated in the 17th annual eye health campaign conducted by that organization in January and February.
