South Shore Medical Center contributes $5,000 to
South Shore Housing Development Corporation

South Shore Housing was very pleased to receive a $5,000 contribution from the South Shore Medical Center to support the efforts of the housing development and services agency.

South Shore Medical Center expressed their concern over the cost of housing for their patients and employees. Steve Dubuque, Executive Director of South Shore Housing thanked South Shore Medical Center for their generous contribution. Both organizations recognize that workforce housing is an important issue for not only the region, but also the state as a whole.

South Shore Housing Development Corporation is a 35-year-old organization committed to meeting the housing needs of low and moderate-income families and those with special needs in southeastern Massachusetts. The generous contribution made by South Shore Medical Center will enhance South Shore Housing’s ability to produce affordable housing in Plymouth and Bristol Counties such as the Brockton Family Life Center, Halifax Elderly project, and the Welcome Home Veteran’s Housing in New Bedford. South Shore Housing manages 404 housing units as well as conducts First Time Homebuyer workshops, Affordable Housing Lotteries, Budget/Credit Counseling, and a Home Modification Loan Program aside from administering 3,000 units of housing rental subsidies. South Shore Housing was just awarded a grant program for down payment and closing cost assistance for first time homebuyers.

South Shore Medical Center’s generous contribution and support is greatly appreciated by the fifteen person Board of Directors of South Shore Housing, based in Kingston and Plympton, Massachusetts.
