MyHealth Online Access for Adolescents!
South Shore Medical Center is pleased to introduce MyHealth Adolescent Access beginning December 2, 2010. MyHealth Adolescent Access is an exciting new feature that will allow patients between the ages of 13 and 18, the ability to view portions of their medical record and communicate with their physician’s office regarding non-urgent matters through a secure patient portal.
Parents will also have access to the adolescent’s medical record but certain restrictions apply. These minor restrictions on parental access are necessary due to the fact that occasionally adolescent patients may have interactions with their healthcare team related to “mature” issues, which SSMC is legally mandated to protect. For this reason, it is also very important that the advantages and disadvantages of Adolescent MyHealth access be discussed prior to beginning the application process. Please see the attached Terms and Conditions for more information.
