South Shore Medical Center now offers Saturday baseline concussion testing once per month.

ImPACT Baselint Testing Logo ImPACT™ (Immediate Post-Concussion Assessment and Cognitive Testing), a neurocognitive concussion evaluation system. It is a computerized exam used to successfully diagnose and manage concussions.

South Shore Medical Center is pleased to announce that we are now offering Saturday Baseline ImPACT testing once per month, from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. every 3rd Saturday of each month in our Norwell location.

What does this mean? It means that the ImPACT test is administered before beginning a contact sport or other physical activity. Information from this test in an uninjured state can then be used for comparison should a head injury occur in the future. Think of it as a preseason physical of the brain.

Is there a cost?

There is a $25 fee for administration of the test that will be collected upon check in prior to the test. Because Baseline concussion tests are not covered by insurance companies, we will not bill your insurance company for this service.
