Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare GIC Primary Choice

Please read this if you currently have Harvard Pilgrim HealthCare GIC Primary Choice
as your primary health insurance:

Dear patient,

We believe that you may have received a letter from HPHC that did not share the complete range of Insurance options, several of which would allow you to retain your PCP at the Medical Center. It is true that the South Shore Medical Center primary care physician will not be participating in the Harvard Pilgrim GIC Primary Choice network as of July 1, 2012. We hope that you select a health plan that we do accept so that you can continue to see your SSMC primary care physician and other clinicians at South Shore Medical Center. These other plans also would allow you to use the South Shore Hospital and the local specialists that were not available in the Primary Choice Network.

You must make a new health plan choice by the close of the GIC open enrollment on May 7th if you want to continue to see your South Shore Medical Center clinicians. Because of the confusion created by the first letter that you received, we are requesting of the GIC that they extend this deadline. If you need the extra time, please call the GIC number listed below. There are six different plans offered by the GIC for the enrollment year starting July 1, 2012 in which South Shore Medical Center participates:

There are three ways for you to enroll in your new health plan choice:
