Flu Vaccine Information -- Adult

This year the South Shore Medical Center has contracted the services of a company called Maxim Health Services to administer our adult flu vaccine. The clinics will be held on weekends in October and November and December in the Internal Medicine Waiting room in Norwell. Maxim Health will be providing the Vaccine, nurses to administer and registration personal during these clinics. Because Maxim is a contracted company, they will bill Insurance companies that cover the flu vaccine and receive payment from patients who do not have coverage. We need to ask all patients to please call their insurance company and find out if the flu shot will be covered by their insurance, if their insurance will not pay for the flu shot they will be expected to pay at the time of the visit, $25. If their insurance will cover it, all patients need to bring proof of insurance, their card, to the clinic.

Any adult patient of the Medical Center, who wants or needs flu vaccine, should be encouraged to book an appointment. We will not be administering shots during normal office visits because we may not have vaccine available for patients in the office.
