Flu Vaccine Information -- Pediatrics

Which children should receive flu vaccine?

The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that all children between the ages of 6 months and 5 years and all children who are at risk for complications of the flu receive flu vaccine.

We will prioritize children under 2 and high-risk pediatric patients with our first vaccine shipment.

Some pediatic flu vaccine is now available.

We have received a small amount of flu vaccine in the pediatric department.

We will start by vaccinating those high risk patients (chronic diseases, children < 2 yrs of age) who are in the office for checkups. We will also hold a flu clinic on Thurs Oct 19  from 9:00 am until 12:00  in the pediatric department. We will book 50 high risk patients in this clinic on a first come/first serve basis.

Please call the pediatric secretaries and set this up if you think your child fits into the high risk category.

We will be getting more vaccine in periodically throughout the next few months and will post on our website as vaccine becomes available.
