Tips to Remember for Seasonal Allergies

You may feel worse if it is humid or moist outside.

Pollen levels are highest between 5 a.m. and 10 a.m. - try not to go outside at this time especially to exercise.

If possible keep windows closed and try not to use window fans.

Use an air conditioner with an indoor cycle or one that can filter air.

Use dehumidifiers to lower indoor humidity or moisture.

Take a shower and shampoo your hair every night to remove pollen.

Tips to Remember for Perennial Allergies

If you do your own house cleaning- wear a mask to prevent breathing in the dusts and molds.

Vacuum all carpets, mattresses and any piece of furniture with fabric on it.

Use specific mattress and pillow covers for people with allergies.

Do not use down filled comforters or pillows.

Wash sheets and blankets in hot water at least once a week.

Do not line dry clothes - use a dryer.

Try to keep pets outdoors or at the very least out of your bedroom if possible

Clean areas like showers, sinks, and around windows with cleaners that will kill mold spores - often containing bleach.
