Human Resources Frequently Asked Questions

What is the application process at SSMC?

You may submit an application and/or resume to Human Resources via e-mail, fax, U.S. post or in person. Please specify clearly:

If an interview can be offered, a recruitment representative will contact you to arrange a date and time. You will interview directly with the hiring manager. A recruitment representative from Human Resources will then follow up with you within a period of one to two weeks.

How does SSMC prefer to be contacted?

The best method is email. It allows us to quickly and clearly communicate with you and our hiring managers regarding your information. Documents should be sent in Microsoft Word format, preferably with a cover letter separate from the resume.

When should I expect to hear from you after submitting a resume or application?

Human Resources will automatically thank you for your interest if you have submitted your resume via e-mail. Otherwise, you should expect to hear from HR within several days if the hiring manager can offer you an interview. If you are not selected for an interview, your information will remain on file for the position you most recently applied for.

Can I apply for more than one job at a time?

Although there may be more than one position for which you feel qualified, you may apply for only one job at a time. If you are not selected to interview for your first choice, you may make a recruitment representative aware of your second choice.

Note: Please do not submit your resume or application more than once, unless the original information becomes outdated.

Why is a medical background often preferred for office positions?

Because we deal with medical issues and terms throughout our facilities, a medical background can be extremely helpful. For that reason and for most positions, applicants having some relevant medical background are preferred over those who have equal skills but no medical background.

How long will you keep my resume on file?

We will consider your application or resume current for a full year from the date you first submitted it.
